Goodbye sir Alex Ferguson…

Goodbye sir Alex Ferguson…

Sir Alex Ferguson retired at the peak of his career when he won the Premier League title, after managing Manchester United for 26 years. The Scot’s 13th championship success proved to be one of his “sweetest” achievements. It ensured that pride returned to Old Trafford after the bitter defeat by the Citizens under dramatic circumstances the previous season. Ferguson’s “noisy neighbours” fell silent. On 8 May 2013, just 16 days after winning the league once again, Ferguson announced that he was going to retire as a manager at the end of the 2012/13 season, but he was going to remain at the club as a director and ambassador. Ferguson has won 49 trophies as a manager, which makes him the most successful British football manager in history.

“The State of Wishes”

“The State of Wishes”

Last  Christmas, something new started in our town, Serres, and we hope it will continue in the coming years: “The State of Wishes”.

It lasted one month, from December 6th to January 6th. It took place in the park near the police station, between the 8th Primary School and the 1st Primary School of Serres.

In the “State” you could find lots of Christmas delicacies, hot drinks and sandwiches.

Children of all ages visited the unique amusement park to enjoy a ride on the Big wheel, the Bumper Cars or the Ghost Train. They could also slide on ice and have fun in the  ice- skating rink.

You could also enjoy short theatrical plays, traditional dances, Christmas carols and concerts with modern singers and bands, like Stavento and Koza Mostra.

A small train took children and adults for a ride, from the National Bank to the State of Wishes.

"The Wave"

REVIEW
"The Wave"

Recently our class has visited the Northern Greece National Theatre in Thessaloniki and saw a great play called “The Wave”.

About the performance: The wave is based on an actual experiment conducted with fifteen year old students by the author Ron Jones who was also a history teacher at Kamperli High School in Palo Alto, California in 1967. The experiment, which was exploring fascism, was intended to show that people are easily turned into a mob that can be manipulated. A role-playing game, which quickly got out of control…..

Review of the performance: The performance was undoubtfully very interesting. First of all, the actors were very good and really talented. They danced, sang and played their role with a vivid passion expressed in both their faces and body. Moreover, the scenery and the direction were excellent. Since the performance had some kind of originality, the performance grasped all students’ attention from the very first minutes! ‘The wave’ is a play that can truly drift you away and show you how people can be easily manipulated and deceived….

OLLANTAYTAMBO ?????

DID YOU KNOW….

OLLANTAYTAMBO ?????

The town was built in 15th century by Peruvians. There were strange, tall buildings which were all made of stone. We don’t have enough proof about who discovered these unusual ruins of the town. The most important artifacts found there were the bathrooms of the princess, the warehouses in which people saved several products and the Wall of the six Monoliths. Most of the buildings were the residents’ houses. Those breathtaking structures really amaze both archaeologists and visitors as well. It’s worth visiting the place if you find yourself in Peru some day………..
